A few new beers to look out for in the area are Beckstones, Sugarbutties 3.9%, Cumbrian Legendary Ales Langdale Moonshine 4.4%, Ulverston's Bridies Brew 3.9% and a Chocolate beer from Abraham Thompson's at 4.2%.
Remember Case's of Barrow? I'm sure some of you will. Case's was Barrow's most respected brewery that closed on 3rd March 1972. Well, it may be well be resurrected. Cousins Adrian and Neil Heywood have bought the Case's name off Coors, who eventually ended up owning it after many years of takeovers. They have also managed to get hold of some of the original recipes and are aiming to do a test brew using Ulverston Brewing plant, possibly in time for the 2008 Ulverston Beer Festival. Neil will be attending the Brewlab course to learn the ropes before deciding whether or not to commit to buying a brewing kit.

Also, we are pleasantly surprised to hear that there is another brewery setting up in the area. A five barrel plant is currently being installed at LowMill business park, Ulverston by Becky Stringer and John Kyme (ex Dead Cowboys). A Bitter, IPA and Stout are all planned in the near future.
Rumour has it that further start ups may also be in the offing. Great news for consumers and Landlords. Stay tuned!
